# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • Zero cooking required, which means you can assemble these while barely awake or deeply distracted at a party.
  • Every single person can customize their own, so picky eaters and adventurous ones leave equally happy.
  • The combination of creamy butter, salty meat, and crisp vegetables on hearty bread is deceptively satisfying for something so simple.
02 -
  • Soggy bread is the only real danger here, so assemble no more than thirty minutes before serving and keep toppings patted dry.
  • Room temperature butter is not optional because cold butter tears the bread and you will end up frustrated and patching holes like I did the first dozen times.
  • A serrated bread knife gives you clean slices without compressing the crumb, which matters more than you think.
03 -
  • Slice everything as thin as you possibly can because delicate layers stack more beautifully and taste more balanced in each bite.
  • Arrange the finished platter on a wooden board instead of a plate because the warmth of wood makes simple food look intentional and loved.
